The biggest tip we can give students looking for scholarships is to 应用, 应用, 应用! Not every一个 is awarded a scholarship right away, so don't be discouraged; 坚持下去. Intensify your search. Keep a record of all scholarships and re应用 each 一年.

Here are some additional tips:

早点出发.

奖学金 can have different deadlines. Use a calendar or planner, make a schedule, 坚持下去. If you miss a deadline, even by just 一个 day, you may not be considered.

做好准备.

Give yourself plenty of time to complete each step of the application. 通常是这样的 obvious when applications are rushed and incomplete applications probably won’t be 接受. If an application requires a 信 of recommendation, think carefully about who should write these 信s and choose people who can speak to your strengths and ability to overcome your weaknesses (信s from family members are generally a no-no). Give your recommenders no less than two weeks notice so they have time to write the 信. Be prepared to provide them with additional information about yourself or 奖学金. Make sure to follow up with your recommender to assure that your 信 was submitted.

• How do your qualifications compare to the requirements of 奖学金?
• What are your past successes, achievements, honors received and positions of leadership 举行?

Be Your Own Cheerleader

• Keep trying even if you don’t win a scholarship right away. Save copies of every application that you complete so you don’t have to start from scratch every time. Update the qualifications to match each new application.
